Iran, Russia, China Enhance Strategic Alliance
(MENAFN) In a recent exclusive interview with a news agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi highlighted that Iran, Russia, and China aim to intensify their collaboration with the objective of fostering worldwide peace and stability.
Over the past few years, Tehran has been reinforcing its diplomatic and strategic bonds with both Moscow and Beijing.
This growing partnership is evident in Iran’s accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2023 and its formal entry into the BRICS bloc in 2024.
Their military coordination has also seen notable progress, marked by joint maritime exercises held by the three nations near Iran’s shores in March.
Considering the current geopolitical dynamics, closer cooperation with Moscow and Beijing is “a necessity” for Iran, Araghchi stated during the interview on Saturday.
“We have started trilateral talks between Iran, Russia and China on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program for some time now,” he explained, noting that two such sessions have already been conducted. “We are ready to continue these talks and expand them to other issues,” the minister added.
Araghchi conveyed his belief that “Iran, China and Russia – in a coordinated move – can take effective steps towards international peace.” He emphasized that all three nations “are serious about this” joint commitment.
