Ordnance explosion in Iran kills one person, injuring others

(MENAFN) An explosion caused by unexploded ordnance from the recent 12-day conflict with Israel killed one person and injured seven others in Lorestan province, Iran, according to the official news agency.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening in Beyranshahr city. All the injured—children and adolescents—were taken to a local hospital. Authorities warned that the number of casualties could rise.

The blasts are remnants of airstrikes Israel carried out on June 13, targeting multiple sites in Iran, including nuclear and military facilities, which resulted in the deaths of senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran launched several waves of missile and drone attacks on Israel. A ceasefire was agreed upon on June 24, ending 12 days of fighting.
